The Margot necklace has been faithfully recreated using original molds from the Margot de Taxco studio under the direction of Melecio Rodriguez who worked for Margot Van Voorhies Carr for 24 years. Margot was one of the famous designers from the golden age of Taxco design from the 1930’s through the 1960’s. She was married to Antonio Castillo of Los Castillo from 1939 -1949 and was responsible for many of the early Los Castillo designs.
Margot was influenced by pre-Columbian & Japanese art and the Art Deco movement in her designs. She personally created all the designs for the Margot de Taxco studio.
